Common Misconceptions When Choosing Carpets

Even with measurements, it's easy to make sizing errors-here's what to steer clear of:

Choosing a carpet that's too small

A tiny carpet in a large room looks awkward and fails to tie the furniture together. If budget is a concern, opt for a slightly smaller size than the "ideal" but avoid going below 160×230cm for main living spaces.

Ignoring furniture placement

Don't buy a carpet before arranging your furniture (or vice versa). The carpet should complement where your sofa, bed, or dining table sits-otherwise, it may end up under furniture or leaving key areas uncovered.

Forgetting custom sizes

Standard sizes don't fit all spaces (e.g., bay windows, irregular-shaped rooms). Many brands (including ours!) offer custom carpet sizes-don't hesitate to request a tailor-made option for a perfect fit. We support custom dimensions, shapes (round, oval, irregular), and even patterns to match your unique space.

Overlooking traffic flow

Ensure the carpet doesn't block walkways or doorways. In high-traffic areas (e.g., entryways, hallways), choose a carpet that's narrow enough to leave space for walking but wide enough to cover the main path.

Matching carpet size to room size without considering furniture: A 200×300cm carpet may be too large for a small living room with a compact sofa, or too small for a large living room with a sectional sofa. Always measure the furniture arrangement first!
