When buying a carpet, many people overlook gram weight (g/㎡) and density (pile count), but these two factors directly determine how soft the carpet feels and how long it will last!
What is gram weight?
This refers to the weight of the carpet per square meter. The higher the gram weight (for the same material), the thicker the pile, the fuller the texture, and the better the feel underfoot (like stepping on clouds).
General standards:
Low gram weight (800-1200g/㎡) → Thin pile, light underfoot feel, suitable for mats.
Medium gram weight (1200-2000g/㎡) → Moderate pile, versatile for all areas (living rooms, bedrooms).
High gram weight (2000g/㎡+) → Thick pile, luxurious feel, ideal for high-end décor and hotels.
What is density?
This refers to the number of pile yarns per square inch. The higher the density, the tighter the pile, which means less shedding and better durability.
Matching principle:
High gram weight must be paired with high density! If the gram weight is high but the density is low, the pile will be loose and prone to deformation (for example, long-term pressure can leave footprints that are hard to recover).
Our Advantage:
All of our carpets are designed with a balanced ratio of "gram weight + density," ensuring there is no misleadingly high gram weight. This guarantees a soft feel underfoot and long-term durability without deformation, even in high-traffic areas, lasting 3-5 years!
